Civil Servants Physical Activity Pilot Program
The Solomon Islands has around 20,000 civil servants working in the public sector for the Solomon Islands Government around the country. Many of these jobs require spending hours upon hours sitting down at an office desk. The National Sports Council has created a Physical Activity Program and Guidelines to help get more civil servants moving to increase health, mental and physical wellbeing while decreasing burnout and ill-health. As a result, this should increase physical stamina of public servants which will increase productivity and work-related outcomes and experience. This will start with the Ministry of Public Service and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Aim of the program
To increase physical activity, wellbeing, productivity and overall health.
